Men's Tennis Cruises Past No. 40 Tulsa, 4-1

THE RUNDOWN
TULSA, Okla. -
The 10th-ranked Baylor men's tennis team (4-1) got its first road win of the season by defeating No. 40 Tulsa, 4-1, Friday, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Playing indoors, Baylor jumped out to an early lead by winning two of three doubles matches. Tulsa (7-3) nabbed the first match of the day as Julian Lenz and Diego Galeano fell 6-3 on court two.

The Bears responded at the No. 1 spot as Mate Zsiga and Tony Lupieri took down Carlos Bautista and Alejandro Espejo, 6-3.

On court three, Vince Schneider and Felipe Rios clinched the point for BU taking out Or Ram-Harel and Juan Matias Gonzalez, 7-5.

BU took control of the match early in singles. First, Max Tchoutakian coasted past Gonzalez at the No. 2 position, 6-4, 6-2. The fifth-ranked Lenz made quick work of Ram-Harel, 6-1, 6-3 at the top of the lineup to BU to a 3-0 lead.

The Golden Hurricane got its lone point of the night as Diego Galeano dropped a 2-6, 6-1, 7-5 decision to Matthew Kirby at the No. 4 spot.

To close out the match, Vince Schneider used a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win to get past Mitchell Pritchard on court five that clinched the match.
