IRVING, Texas ÃÆ' ¢Ãƒ ¢' ¬" Led by Big 12 linemen of the year Andrew Billings (defensive) and Spencer Drango (offensive), Baylor football had nine players honored on the All-Big 12 Teams, the league announced Wednesday.

The Bears have now had four or more selections in eight straight years, including at least eight in three consecutive seasons. A BU player has been name Offensive Lineman of the Year in four straight seasons.

Selections are made by the league's 10 head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own players. BU's nine selections are second-most in program history after having 10 in 2013.

Junior nose tackle Andrew Billings carded the first Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and Defensive Lineman of the Year honors in school history, and was a unanimous first-team All-Big 12 selection. He shares the Defensive Player of the Year award with Oklahoma State's Emmanuel Ogbah. In 2015, Billings has been a dominant force in the middle of BU's defensive line. The Waco, Texas, product started in 11 games, after missing the Iowa State game due to injury. Billings leads the Bears with 15 tackles for loss, including a team-best 5.5 sacks. He has 38 tackles with 31 of those being solo stops. Billings' 1.27 TFL per game ranks fourth in the Big 12 and 34th in the country. He was a major reason for BU boasting the conference's second-best rush defense (156.3 ypg).

Senior tackle Spencer Drango earned Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year for a second straight year, joining Cyril Richardson (2012, 2013) as the only two players in program history to earn the honor and the only two players in Big 12 history to win the honor twice in a career. The Outland Trophy finalist was a unanimous first-team All-Big 12 choice for the third straight year and led all BU blockers with a 90.3 percent coaches grade and 48 knockdowns as a starter in all 12 games in an offense that leads the country in points (48.0) and yards (604.6) per game. Drango has helped Baylor's rushing attack rank fourth in the country with 300.2 yards per contest. He is also a key component in helping the Bears give up only 1.25 sacks per game, which ranks 19th-best nationally and leads the Big 12.

Joining Billings and Drango on the first team were receiver Corey Coleman and defensive back Xavien Howard.

Coleman, who was an honorable mention Offensive Player of the Year and 2014 second-team All-Big 12 choice, racked up historic numbers in his junior season. In starting all 12 games, he has 74 catches for 1,363 yards and is a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award. Coleman leads the country in touchdown receptions (20) and is third in receiving yards per game (113.6). The junior's 20 TD grabs are currently ranked tied for third-most for a single season in Big 12 history and ninth-most in NCAA history.

Howard, an honorable mention selection a season ago, tallied 37 tackles, five interceptions, nine pass breakups, one tackle for loss and one fumble recovery in starting all 12 games. The junior's five INTs were a team-best and were tied for second-most in the Big 12. Howard's 1.17 passes defended per game were third-best in the league and 31st in the country.

Among Baylor's second team selections were running back Shock Linwood, receiver KD Cannon, offensive linemen Jarrell Broxton and Kyle Fuller, along with defensive lineman Shawn Oakman.

After being the first-team running back last season, Linwood again produced historic numbers in 2015. The junior tallied 1,329 yards and 10 touchdowns on 196 rushes, while starting all 12 games for BU, which led the league in rushing and ranked fourth nationally with 300.2 yards per game. Linwood added nine catches for 71 yards and another score. Linwood had six 100-yard rushing performances on the year, which were second most in the Big 12. He averaged 110.8 yards rushing per game, which were fourth most in the league and his 6.78 yards per carry were tops in the Big 12 and seventh nationally.

An honorable mention honoree a year ago, Cannon, a sophomore, started all 12 games in 2015 with 46 catches for 828 yards and six touchdowns. Cannon 18.0 yards per catch ranked sixth in the Big 12 and 28th nationally.

Fuller was an honorable mention selection in 2014, while Broxton earned his first All-Big 12 honor. Both players teamed with Drango to give the Bears one of the most experienced offensive lines in the country. Both players started in all 12 games for the Bears as the offensive line unit powered the league's top rushing offense and was named a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award. Fuller was third on the team with an 88.7 percent coaches grade, while Broxton tied for the team lead with 48 knockdowns.

Oakman, a first-team selection last year and the preseason Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, enjoyed a record-setting season as a senior. He started in 11 of 12 games, while tallying 43 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. He ranks first on BU's all-time sacks list (17.5) and second on BU's all-time TFL list (46.0).
