BRILES' UNIQUE SYSTEM IS AMERICA'S TOP OFFENSE
Art Briles' unique, record-breaking offense is leading the nation in total offense (616.0) and scoring (50.8) through 11 games, after also having led in both each of the past two seasons - total offense (581.5 ypg 2014, 618.8 ypg 2013) and scoring (48.2 ppg 2014, 52.4 ppg 2013). Baylor's offense is the only one in the country to rank among the top-four in total offense each of the last four years.

THE BRILES OFFENSE: à ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € A unique, up-tempo spread attack with origins in Bill Yeoman's `Houston Veer' (perhaps most identifiable by wide splits of receivers and a power running game), Art Briles has honed his offensive system over the past four decades as a high school and collegiate coach; it's a balanced offense, not to be confused with more common pass-heavy spread attacks. The Briles offense is also in use at Bowling Green (head coach Dino Babers) and Tulsa (head coach Philip Montgomery) under former Briles assistants. In the latest NCAAà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € statistics, those three programs, Baylor (616.0), Bowling Green (566.0) and Tulsa (502.8) are first, third and 13th respectively in total offense.

BIGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € 12'S TOPà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € TEAMà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SINCEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € 2013
En route to back-to-back Big 12 titles, the Bears racked up matching 8-1 league records. That combined record of 16-2, plus this year's 6-2 start is far and away tops in the Big 12 since the start of 2013.

THEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € NATION'S MOSTà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € BALANCEDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € OFFENSE
Currently, Baylor is the only team in the nation to be ranked in the top 15 in both passing (13th, 324.5) and rushing offense (4th, 291.5). Baylor has ranked among the nation's top 15 in both rushing and passing yards in three of the past four years. Additionally, BU has rushed on more than 54 percent of plays over the last four seasons.

BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € ATà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € ITSà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € BESTà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € POST-HALLOWEEN
Baylor has compiled a 22-6 mark in games after October 31 since 2011 (16-4 in Nov., 6-0 in Dec., 0-2 in Jan.). Included in those games is a 9-6 record vs. APà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € Top 25 teams (wins over No. 5 OU in 2011, No. 2 K-State, No. 23 Oklahoma State and No. 17 UCLA in 2012, No. 12 Oklahoma and No. 23 Texas in 2013, No. 16 Oklahoma and No. 9 Kansas State in 2014, No. 4 Oklahoma State in 2015). Baylor's 22 wins in the months of November and December since 2011 is an FBS-best.

INJURIESà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € FORCEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € JOHNSONà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € TO PILOT #AMERICASTOPOFFENSE
After season-ending injuries to QBs Seth Russell and Jarrett Stidham, third-year sophomore Chris Johnson of Bryan, Texas, is the man tabbed to lead #AmericasTopOffense. He entered the Oklahoma State game at halftime for injured starter Jarrett Stidham, completing 5-of-10 passes for 138 yards and 2 TDs. He also ran the ball six times for 42 yards and one score to seal the BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € win in Stillwater. In his first career start at TCUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € in a rain storm, Johnson completed just 7-of-24 passes for 62 yards and 1 TD. After moving to WRà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € during 2015 fall camp, Johnson returned to the QBà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € position after Seth Russell went down with a neck injury in the Iowa State contest. Johnson was a 2013 early enrollee at BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € and redshirted the 2013 season. He played in four games in 2014, totaling 28 yards on 4-of-4 passing. He also ran the ball four times for 29 yards. In early season wide receiver play in 2015, Johnson caught three passes for 37 yards.

OWNINGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € THEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € LONEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € STARà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € STATE
Baylor has racked up a 19-4 record vs. in-state foes over the last four-plus years, including victories in 12 of its last 13 meetings with other Texas schools. The Bears have also been successful against any opponent when the game has been played in the Lone Star State, boasting a 27-3 record over its last 30 games and a 38-6 mark in contests over the last four-plus years in Texas.

COLEMANà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € PRODUCINGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € HISTORIC NUMBERS
Biletnikoff Award finalist Corey Coleman is having one of the top seasons in college football. The junior from Richardson, Texas, has caught 67 passes for 1,314 yards and 20 touchdowns in 11 games. He has already broken the BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € single-season record for receiving touchdowns (14, Kendall Wright in 2011) and has a shot to set new Big 12 and NCAAà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € records in the category.

TEXASà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SERIES HISTORY
Baylor and Texas renew their rivalry for the 105th time when the schools meet Saturday in Waco, the third-most played rivalry in Baylor football history behind TCU and Texas A&Mà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € (111 & 108 meetings, respectively). Texas leads the all-time series 74-26-4, but Baylor has won four of the last five meetings. The Bears are just 16-29-2 in games played in Waco. In last year's meeting, Baylor captured a 28-7 victory in Austin. In the last meeting in in Waco, Baylor exploded for 17 points in the third quarter and never looked back taking a 30-10 victory to clinch its first Big 12 title in 2013. The series dates back to a 23-0 Texas victory Oct. 29, 1901, in Waco. The programs have played every year since 1945. This will be only the 10th time in the series that a ranked Baylor team takes on an unranked Texas squad. BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € is 5-4 in those previous nine contests, but has won the last four such contests, including in 2010, 2011 and 2014.

BAYLOR'S RETURN TO PROMINENCE UNDER BRILES
It's no secret that Art Briles has rebuilt Baylor's football program back to national prominence, but most impressive is how quickly and pronounced the transformation happened (Briles is third on the BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € career wins list).

RUNà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € GAMEà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € ROLLINGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € FORà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € BEARSà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € INà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € 2015
By rushing for over 270 yards in nine of the first 11 games, Baylor is fourth in the country averaging 291.5 yards per contest on the ground. BU's rushing attack is led by Shock Linwood 1,298 yds. on 189 carries with 10 TDs. The junior is torching defenses for 6.9 yards per carry in 2015 and 118.0 yards per game. Those marks are first and third in the Big 12 and eighth and 16th in the country, respectively. The Bears' punishing rushing game has now produced 1,000-yard rushers in six straight seasons: Jay Finley in 2010 (1,218), Terrance Ganaway in 2011 (school-record 1,547), Lache Seastrunk in 2012 (1,012) and 2013 (1,060)à ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € and Shock Linwood in 2014 (1,135) and 2015.

Baylor's offensive line has six linemen with 18 or more career starts (Spencer Drango 46, Kyle Fuller 24, Blake Muir 23, Jarell Broxton 19, Pat Colbert 19, Desmine Hilliard 18). The 2015 line leads the Big 12 and ranks 24th in the nation by giving up just 14 sacks in 11 games (1.27 per game). That veteran group has also helped BU become the nation's No. 4 rushing offense with 291.5 yards per game. The group was named a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award, which recognizes the country's top o-line unit, on Nov. 16.

TURNOVERSà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € PROVINGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € COSTLY
After starting out the year by winning the turnover battle in seven of eight games, the Bears have now turned it over more time than their opponent in each of the last three games. The Bears have gained 24 turnovers in 2015, while gifting 21. However over the past three games, BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € is trailing 11-3 the turnover category.

OPPORTUNISTICà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € DEFENSE
Baylor's defense under coordinator Phil Bennett has demonstrated a knack for making big plays at key moments to contribute to the Bears' winning ways over the past four-plus seasons. BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € had led the nation by forcing a turnover in 25-straight games before not getting one against Oklahoma State. In four-plus years under Bennett, Baylor's D has recorded at least one takeaway in 57 of 63 games - a total of 133 takeaways (79 interceptions, 54 fumbles recovered). Overall under Bennett, Baylor is 35-6 when recording two or more takeaways, including 7-1 in 2015.

COLEMANà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € CARRYINGà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € `WIDE RECEIVERà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € U' BANNER
Through 11 games, junior Corey Coleman has been the nation's top receiver. He continues a long history of success for BUà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € at the wide receiver position. Prominent alums include Josh Gordon (Browns), Terrance Williams (Cowboys) and Kendall Wright (Titans). Coleman currently leads the country in TDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € catches (20) and is third in receiving yards per contest (119.5).

With its 56 points against SMU, 61 against Lamar, 70-point outburst against Rice, 63 vs. Texas Tech, 66 at Kansas and 62 against West Virginia, the Bears continued to lead the nation in 50-point outings since 2013.

STIDHAMà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € OUTà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € FORà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € RESTà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € OFà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € REGULARà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SEASON
In three starts for the injured Seth Russell, true freshman Jarrett Stidham had proven the ability to pilot #AmericasTopOffense. However, the Stephenville, Texas, product was knocked out of the Oklahoma State game at halftime with an injury and it was announced last week that he will be out the rest of the regular season with a broken bone in the back of his foot. Despite also playing with an injury throughout the Oklahoma loss, the 19-year old has completed 51-of-81 passes for 934 yards and six TDs in his three starts. He also added another TDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € on the ground. Stidham's 419 passing yards at Kansas State were the 10th-most passing yards in a game in program history and was the program's 17th all-time 400-yard passing game.

RUSSELLà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SIDELINED FORà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € SEASONà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € WITHà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € INJURY
Through seven games, QB Seth Russell had shown he was more than capable of running America's top offense. However against Iowa State, the Garland, Texas, product suffered a neck injury that required season-ending surgery. The fourth-year junior had thrown for 2,104 yards and 29 touchdowns in his first season as a starter, and ran for 402 yards and six TDs. Individually, Russell led the FBS in passing efficiency (189.7).

COLEMANà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € BREAKSà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € CAREERà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € TDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € CATCHà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € RECORD
With two more TDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € grabs against Iowa State, Corey Coleman set BU's career TDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € catch record passing Kendall Wright's career mark of 30. Now with 33 TDà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € catches for his career, he ranks 39th all-time in NCAAà ¢Ã¢' ¬Ã‹ € history and seventh in Big 12 history. He now needs 1 more TD catch to tie Texas A&M's Jeff Fuller (34) for sixth on the Big 12 list.
