WACO, Texas - The 10th-ranked Baylor men's tennis team (3-1) posted its third-straight shutout by defeating No. 73 Louisiana-Lafayette (2-5), 7-0, Thursday at the Hurd Tennis Center.
The Bears started the day on a roll as the doubles pairing of Mate Zsiga and Diego Galeano at the No. 1 spot and Max Tchoutakian and Juan Benitez on court three each defeated their opponents by 6-2 scores.
In singles play, Vince Schneider got his first dual-match victory of the year, defeating Vlad Kramarov on court five, 6-0, 6-1. At the No. 3 spot, Galeano put BU up 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-0 victory against Jarred Wynan.
To clinch the match, the 121st-ranked Rios dominated Rok Sitar, 6-1, 6-1 for his third singles victory of the season on court six.
With the match decided, Max Tchoutakian, Mate Zsiga and Tony Lupieri all recorded single-set wins to give the Bears the shutout.
