BU €ˆreturned a nation's-best 6,319 yards from its 2013 totals when it led the country in both categories as well. Currently BU's offense €ˆis the only one in the country to be in the top-five of total offense each of the last four years. Over the past few years, the Bears have shattered numerous NCAA, Big 12 and school records.

SUCCESS AWAY FROM WACO
Baylor has won seven of its last nine games outside of Waco (dating into the 2012 season), including a 1-0 mark this year. In that span, the Bears are 4-1 in true road games and 3-1 in neutral-site games (1-1 in bowl games and 1-2 vs. ranked opponents).

BAYLOR'S RETURN TO PROMINENCE UNDER BRILES
It's no secret that Art Briles has completely rebuilt Baylor's football program back to national prominence, but most impressive is how speedy and pronounced the transformation has been (Briles is fourth on the BU €ˆcareer wins list and two victories away from moving into the third spot).

OPPORTUNISTIC €ˆDEFENSE
Baylor's defense under coordinator Phil Bennett has demonstrated a knack for making big plays at key moments to contribute to the Bears winning ways over the past three seasons. In three-plus years under Bennett, Baylor's D has recorded at least one takeaway in 37 of 42 games - a total of 88 takeaways (55 interceptions, 33 fumbles recovered). Overall under Bennett, Baylor is 25-3 when recording two or more takeaways.

BEARS €ˆSTART €ˆFAST
BU €ˆhas scored at least one touchdown in all 12 quarters of action this season, but the Bears seem to do most of their damage early. Baylor has scored at least 21 points in the first quarter of all three games this year and is outscoring opponents 73-0 in the opening quarter.

OFFENSIVE €ˆLINE €ˆPROTECTING €ˆQB
Baylor's QB €ˆhave not had to worry about getting their uniforms dirty as BU's offensive line is one of just three in the country (New Mexico State and Texas Tech) to have not allowed a sack this season. Over the past five years, the Bears have done a solid job keeping the signal caller upright (see list below).

However, the Cyclones won the next four meetings: 24-17 at Ames in 1997, 31-17 at Floyd Casey Stadium in 2000, 41-0 at Ames in 2001 and 26-25 at Floyd Casey Stadium in 2004. The Bears snapped that streak with a 23-13 victory at Ames in 2005 and won 38-10 in Waco in 2008 before falling in 24-10, in Ames in 2009 and picking up a 49-26 home win in 2011. The last time BU €ˆwas in Ames (2012), Iowa State claimed a 35-21 victory. Last season, the Bears recorded 71-7 victory over ISU in the final Homecoming at Floyd Casey Stadium.
