Baylor student-athletes set academic records for the recently completed spring 2014 school term. BU teams posted a cumulative GPA of 3.18, the highest for a spring semester, and for the seventh time in the last eight semesters, more than 300 Baylor student-athletes earned Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll status.

BU's 331 spring semester Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll members were a spring term high and the 678 honorees for the year also set a record. In addition, 60 student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 mark for the semester and 114 were named to Baylor's Dean's List.

In each of the last 12 semesters, the cumulative GPA of all Baylor teams has been above a 3.0, with the last six terms (spring 2011, fall 2011, spring 2012, fall 2012, spring 2013, fall 2013 and spring 2014) standing as the highest semester GPAs in school history for any semester. Acrobatics & tumbling, football and women's golf posted their highest semester GPA.

The Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll is an inclusive honor for varsity sports sponsored by the league membership. The Honor Roll is recorded and released each semester and recognizes those student-athletes who had a 3.00 or better grade-point average in the previous semester. More than 3,000 student-athletes each semester have been named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in the league's 18-year history. Baylor has had more than 7,400 student-athletes honored since the Honor Roll began.

The spring 2014 semester proved yet again that Baylor student-athletes dominate not only on the field, but also in the classroom. This semester, 114 student-athletes from Baylor's varsity sports were named to the 2014 spring Dean's List. Dean's List recognition is awarded to Baylor students with a 3.7 grade-point average, enrolled in at least 12 hours and who make no grade lower than a C.
