The Manning Award is the only college football quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting; therefore, it is presented annually following the completion of the bowl season. The winner is selected by a panel of national media covering college football, as well as each of the Mannings.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning.
BU currently has a 10-1 record and a 7-1 league mark. The Bears are ranked No. 5 in both the AP Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Poll.
Baylor will now host No. 9 Kansas State Saturday at 6:45 p.m. CT at McLane Stadium. That game will be broadcast to a national audience on ESPN.
