THE RUNDOWN AUSTIN, Texas - The No. 2 Texas Longhorns downed the Baylor volleyball team Tuesday night at Gregory Gymnasium, 25-12, 25-13, 25-17. UT hit .473 and kept Baylor to a .047 hitting percentage to improve to 12-0 and 4-0 in Big 12 play.
The Bears dropped to 10-8 overall and 1-3 in Big 12 play and Katie Staiger had eight kills in the loss. The Bears had 25 attacking errors and 29 kills on 86 attempts.
The Longhorns out-blocked Baylor 11-3 and picked up 11 service aces in the win. In a balanced offensive attack, the Longhorns' Haley Eckerman and Chiaka Ogbogu had seven kills apiece with just one attacking error each. In addition, Khat Bell hit .750 with six kills.
Texas is 74-2 all-time against Baylor and 35-0 in when the Longhorns face the Bears in Austin.
