PETTY €ˆEFFICIENT IN FIRST €ˆCAREER €ˆSTART
Bryce Petty (Midlothian, Texas) made the transition to starter very effectively vs. Wofford. He threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns on 19-of-24 passing. The multi-tooled Petty served as the backup to Robert Griffin III and Nick Florence the past two seasons. The junior had thrown just 14 passes in 11 career games played entering 2013, but has been through three seasons and four spring drills in the Baylor program since signing in 2009 and enrolling in January 2010. BU €ˆwas one of just seven FBS €ˆprograms that entered 2013 with no QB on its roster who has started a game. Petty was tabbed as a preseason All-Big 12 first-team performer by Phil Steele.

BAYLOR'S QUICK-STRIKE, BIG-PLAY OFFENSE
Baylor's offense picked up right where it left off in 2012, notching four TD drives under one minute and seven under two minutes against Wofford. The Bears also had two TD drives of three plays or less. In 2012, Baylor's dangerously quick offense scored nine touchdowns on one-play scoring drives and totaled 16 TD drives of three plays or fewer. The BU offense's average scoring drive was 2:01 on the season and it totaled 20 drives resulting in TDs of one minute or less and 42 TD drives of two minutes or less.
