Lenz Advances to Second Round of National Indoor

The Rundown:
FLUSHING, New York - Baylor men's tennissophomore Julian Lenz defeated seventh-ranked Nik Scholtz of Mississippi in the first round of the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships held on Thursday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
The 38th-ranked Lenz, (9-1) recorded a 6-2, 6-2 victory to advance to the tournament's second round that will be played Friday at 12:30 p.m. Lenz will face No. 85 Axel Alvarez of Oklahoma who reached the second round after recording a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Texas' George Goldhoff.
Baylor's 16th-ranked, and tournament overall No. 1 seed, Patrick Pradella (7-3) fell to top-ranked Mikelis Libietis of Tennessee 7-6(7), 6-3. The loss today sets up a consolation round matchup with No. 18 Yannick Hanfmann of USC at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
Baylor junior Diego Galeano (11-3) also fell in the first round of play 6-2, 6-3 to No. 74 Clay Thompson of UCLA. He will face Georgia's Austin Smith in the consolation round at 4 p.m. on Friday.
