Baylor (16-7, 3-5) used a .324 hitting percentage to pick up its first Big 12 sweep of the season with a 3-0 win (25-18, 25-22, 25-18) over West Virginia (8-14, 0-8) Saturday afternoon at the Ferrell Center.. -The Bears had just 12 hitting errors in the match, tying a season best previously set on Sept. 15 against UTEP.

"Our offense was great this afternoon," head coach Jim Barnes said. "I think we still gave up too many free points for them, but those are things we can work on."

The .324 hitting mark for Baylor was the highest in a Big 12 match and third-highest overall this season.

Junior Zoe Adom led the Baylor attack with 14 kills, while Alyssa Dibbern added 12 to go along with a BU season-best .632 hitting percentage and no errors. Dibbern now has 16 double-digit kill matches on the year and five in a row. Torri Campbell led the Bears blocking attack with four, as BU collected eight total team blocks.

Baylor came out on fire in the first, never trailing and hitting .412 (17-3-34). Tied at three, the Bears got four-straight points off the serve of Thea Munch-Soegaard, including two of her three aces, to take a 7-3 lead. BU would never look back, as Adom totaled five kills in the opener for a 25-18 win.

The Bears found themselves down 6-1 to start the second, trailing most of the set. With West Virginia holding a 19-15 advantage, Baylor called timeout and proceeded to go on an 8-0 run thanks to the serve of Munch-Soegaard and four kills from Adom, who had six in the set. The Mountaineers cut the lead to 23-22, but BU came out of a timeout for the final two points off swings from Campbell and Adom for the 25-22 win.

Dibbern registered six of BU's 19 third-set points with five kills and a solo block to lead the Bears to a 25-18 win in set three. Baylor found itself trailing twice in the set, but used a 5-0 run off the serve of Munch-Soegaard to close out the set.

"I think this team is set up for a second-half run," Barnes said. "We are young, but we have seen all teams in the Big 12 now and it's time for everyone to step up."

Baylor will hit the road for two-straight matches, beginning at No. 8 Texas on Wed., Oct. 24 at 7 pm in Austin.
