WACO, Texas - Baylor competitive cheer head coach Karry Forsythe announced the signings of 11 student-athletes Wednesday. The Bears' signing class is made up of 10 high school seniors and one junior college transfer. All 11 student-athletes will join the program for the 2011-12 season.

"I am thrilled to have such a great group of athletes coming in fall 2011," Forsythe said. "We have created depth to our roster and that will have a great impact on how we are able to coach the sport next season."

The following student-athletes are expected to join the Baylor program in the fall of 2011: Rebecca Carniello (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.), Ally Cheatham (Phoenix, Ariz.), Brandi Hanford (Hewitt, Texas), Keegan Johnson (West Chicago, Ill.), Alecia Occhipinti (Coto De Caza, Calif.), Anna Pearce (Victoria, Texas), Britta Pierce (Grapevine, Texas), Bresha Pierce (Grapevine, Texas), Tiffany Rudzitis (Simi Valley, Calif.), Kelsey Taylor (Conroe, Texas) and Kendall Taylor (Conroe, Texas).

The 11 signees will be joining the team for the second season of Baylor competitive cheer. The 2010-11 squad consists of 28 students-athletes, 24 of which are freshmen.

Baylor kicks off its inaugural season with a mock meet at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Ferrell Center. The Bears' first regular season meet is Dec. 3 at Fairmont State.
