THE RUNDOWN
Baylor (7-4, 4-3), which has lost back-to-back games for the first time in 2010, will conclude its regular-season schedule when the Bears host No. 16/14 Oklahoma (8-2, 4-2) at Floyd Casey Stadium. Saturday's game will be televised live nationally at 7 p.m. CST €ˆon ESPN2.
Two of the Big 12's three 3,000-yard passers will be on display -- Oklahoma sophomore QB Landry Jones vs. Baylor sophomore QB Robert Griffin III. Jones ranks second in the Big 12 in total passing yards (3,154) and passing yards per game (315.4), while Griffin III ranks third in both categories (3,071/279.2). Griffin III, who set the school single-season passing record Nov. 6 at Oklahoma State, is the first Baylor QB to throw 3,000 yards in a single season.
Senior TB €ˆJay Finley ranks third in the Big 12 in rushing yards (1,073) and owns just the seventh 1,000-yard rushing season in school history. Senior S Byron Landor ranks fourth in the Big 12 with 105 tackles and leads the nation in total tackles among defensive backs.
Oklahoma is the third consecutive ranked team the Bears have faced this season and fourth overall. WR €ˆRyan Broyles, the national leader with 9.44 receptions per game, leads the Sooners with 94 receptions for 1,196 yards and 11 TDs. Broyles and Baylor IR €ˆKendall Wright are tied for eighth nationally among active FBS receivers with a reception in 35 consecutive games.
BAYLOR-OKLAHOMA SERIES
This is the 20th meeting between Baylor and Oklahoma; the Sooners have dominated the series, winning each of the first 19 meetings. The Sooners' margin of victory has been less than 10 points only three times: 28-24 in 1996, 24-23 in 1997 and 37-30 in double overtime in 2005.
Baylor and Oklahoma first met Oct. 26, 1901; the Sooners left Waco that day with a 17-6 victory. The teams did not play again until 1973, a 42-14 Oklahoma victory in Waco. The Bears and Sooners met again the following season in Norman with OU winning 28-11. Baylor and Oklahoma met twice more before the inception of the Big 12 in 1996, playing at Norman during the 1984 and 1989 seasons.

For the third consecutive week, Baylor will play a ranked Big 12 South opponent. The Bears are 41-164-6 all-time vs. ranked opponents and 26-144-5 when unranked and playing a ranked opponent. Baylor, which hasn't defeated a ranked opponent since Oct. 30, 2004, vs. No. 16 Texas A&M - a 35-34 OT victory in Waco.
MAKING THE MOST OF BIG PLAYS
Baylor has relied on big offensive plays during the 2010 season, breaking off 13 plays of 50+ yards through 11 games -- 11 of which have resulted in a touchdown. Nine of the 13 plays have come via the pass -- eight from QB Robert Griffin III and one from IR Kendall Wright. Senior TB €ˆJay Finley has three runs of 69+ yards, including a pair of 69-yard touchdowns runs at Texas (Oct. 30) and vs. Texas A&M €ˆ(Nov. 13).
BAYLOR 500 (AND MORE)
Baylor has compiled 500 or more yards of total offense in five of its 11 games during the 2010 season, including two games with 600+ yards. Prior to this season, Baylor had reached 500 yards of total offense only five times in its last 92 games and nine times total in the first 14 years of the Big 12.
THE GROUND GAME
Baylor's last eight touchdowns have come via the run with four rushing TDs at Oklahoma State and vs. Texas A&M. Jay Finley has five of Baylor's last eight rushing touchdowns. Additionally, Baylor has more rushing yards (488) in the last two games than QB €ˆRobert Griffin III has passing yards (479). Baylor has eight rushing touchdowns in its last two games after posting 14 rushing touchdowns through the first nine games of the season.
FINLEY JOINS ELITE GROUP
With his fourth 100-yard rushing game in Baylor's last five contests, senior TB €ˆJay Finley became the seventh player in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season. Finley is the first Baylor player to reach the 1,000-yard season milestone since Rashad €ˆArmstrong (1,074) in 2003. The senior needs 115 yards to break Walter Abercrombie's 30-year school record (1,187 in 1980).
CENTURY MARK
Senior S Byron Landor leads the nation in total tackles for non-linebackers with 105 stops. Landor is the first Baylor non-linebacker to reach the 100-tackle plateau since Jordan Lake (120) in 2007.
THE FIRST TO 3,000
Sophomore QB Robert Griffin III extended his single-season program record for passing, surpassing 3,000 yards last week against Texas A&M. Griffin III became the first quarterback in Baylor history to throw for 3,000 yards a in a single season.
RG3, who has thrown for 3,071 yards in 11 games, is one of only 12 quarterbacks in Baylor history to throw for 3,000 or more yards in a career.
