WACO - Baylor's Christine Clark buried the game-winner in the 69th minute to give Baylor (11-7-2, 4-6) a 1-0 win over Texas Tech (11-7-1, 4-5-1) on Friday night at Betty Lou Mays Field.
The win, which marked the final game of the season for the Bears, gives them the most overall wins since 1999 and the most conference victories since 2001. The shutout was the 11th of the season for BU, tying the program record set in 1998.
"I could not be more proud of this team," head coach Marci Jobson said. "We played for pride tonight and showed what a good team we are. I am glad we sent the seniors out with a win, and this is a great building block for next season."
Baylor and Texas Tech battled through a physical first half that combined for 17 fouls, leading to a 0-0 tie. Tech led the shot category 7-4.
Baylor's defense stymied the Red Raiders in the second half, allowing just one shot in the final 45 minutes of play.
Georgia Mullins nearly gave Baylor the lead in the 55th minute, as a Hanna Gilmore corner kick was kicked towards the goal and Mullins redirected it just wide.
Another corner from Gilmore found Alex Klein's head in the 57th, only to see Tech keeper, Colleen Pitts make the save.
Clark put away her lone chance of the game in the 69th, as she dribbled past her defender to the far post and ripped a shot that beat Pitts to her right and found the side netting for her third goal of the year.
The Bears outshot the Red Raiders 7-1 in the second half.
Courtney Seelhorst picked up her eighth solo shutout of the year, tying her with Dawn Greathouse for second in most solo shutouts in a season.
Baylor's win gives it the "Battle of the Brand" for the first time, as the two teams have vied for the cup each year since 2006. The victory over Texas Tech was the first since a 3-2 win in Lubbock on Oct. 29, 2005.
