LAST TIME AGAINST MISSOURI
Then-No. 19 Baylor played like a Top 20 team, disposing of the visiting Missouri Tigers in a 3-0 sweep (25-13, 25-18, 25-23) with double-doubles from Katie Sanders and Taylor Barnes at the Ferrell Center. Baylor rolled through the first two sets, then fought off a furious Missouri rally in the third set, getting timely offense from Sanders and Barnes and taking advantage of MU mistakes.
Sanders fueled the offense with 12 kills on 30 attempts with just one error (.367), while also adding a team-high 11 digs for her eighth double-double of the season. Ashlie Christenson and Anna Breyfogle chipped in 10 and eight kills, respectively, to provide some versatility to the attack. Barnes dished out 34 set assists, and was one of four Bears with double-digit digs with 10.
Libero Allison King and defensive specialist Caitlyn Trice each had 10 to go along with Sanders' and Barnes' double-figure totals. King's total marked the 13th straight match and 15th of the season with at least 10 digs.
LAST TIME OUT
In a Senior Night match that started 90 minutes late due to a last-minute venue switch to Baylor's Student Life Center, second-ranked Texas swept No. 24 Baylor 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-23) on Saturday night in front of a crowd of 1,057. A wet spot on the floor forced officials to move the match to the SLC.
Baylor senior Katie Sanders had a match-high 16 kills and hit .433 (16-3-30), but Baylor hit just .170 (39-21-106) compared to Texas' .340 (45-9-106). All-Americans Destinee Hooker and Ashley Engle led the Longhorns with 14 and 10 kills. BU's Ashlie Christenson was the only other player in double figures with 10 kills. Baylor senior Taylor Barnes had a match-high 30 assists in her final home match.
On defense, the Longhorns out-blocked Baylor 10.0 to 4.0, getting six block assists from Jennifer Doris and five from Juliann Faucette. Baylor's Allison King led all players with 17 digs, while Texas libero Heather Kisner had 10.
