COLUMBIA, Mo. - Senior Erin Bedell earned all-conference for the third time in her career, but the Baylor women finished seventh overall, while the men were 11th as a team at the Big 12 Cross Country Championships in Columbia, Mo., on Saturday.

"We are disappointed in the results, but not in the effort, we fought pretty hard today," head coach Todd Harbour said. "We got out in the race, but just didn't hold on to it. We just have to get everybody well and get ready for regionals. We are looking forward to having some better performances in two weeks."

Bedell was the only Baylor runner in the top 15 in either race, earning the lone all-Big 12 honor for the Bears with her eighth-place finish. Bedell covered the 6,000 meter course in 21 minutes, 44.91 seconds. Colorado's Jenny Barringer was the individual title by 46 seconds, leading her team to a second-place overall finish, despite taking the top two individual spots.

The Texas Tech women took the team title with all five runners in the top 15, totaling 38 points to Colorado's 52. Iowa State was third at 85, while Nebraska (143), Kansas (160), and Kansas State (170) were all ahead of the Bears' point total of 174.

Senior Nichole Jones was the only other Bear in the top 25, placing 25th with a time of 22:25.66. Freshman Stephanie Morgan was next for Baylor in 42nd, clocking a time of 23:00.30. Cate Westenhover (23:09.76) and Danielle Bradley (23:16.75) rounded out the Bears' top five in 49th and 52nd, respectively.

On the men's side, junior Robbie Knorr was the top finisher in 34th place with a time of 25:56.54 for the 11th-place Bears. Four Oklahoma State runners swept the top four spots on the way to the team championship with 24 total points. Ryan Vail won the individual title for the Cowboys. Colorado was second at 56, and Oklahoma was third at 75 points. The Bears finished with 282 points.

Sophomore Brandon White was next across the line for Baylor in 61st place with a time of 26:39.19. Zac Flowers and Brandon Reed placed 67th and 68th at 26:57.56 and 26:57.77. Freshman Blake Niccum completed Baylor's top five in 70th with a time of 27:01.64.
