COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Baylor junior Jordan Rux will have to wait another day to continue his quest for a title at the 2009 Wilson/ITA Texas Regional Championships after rained cancelled matches at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center, Monday.
Rux, who is the fourth seed in the tournament, was scheduled to play in the quarterfinals of the event at 9 a.m. against the fifth-seeded Ed Corrie of Texas. However due to the weather, the match will take place at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. In three career meetings against the Longhorn, Rux is a perfect 3-0.
Quarterfinal and semifinal rounds are scheduled to be completed tomorrow with the championship match in singles moved back to Wednesday at 10 a.m.
If Rux wins his quarterfinal match, he will face the winner of Texas' Dimitar Kutrovsky, the tournament's No.1 seed, and Michael Nusslein of Rice in a semifinal contest at 12 p.m. Tuesday.
