Volleyball Set to Host Nebraska in Regular Season Finale

BAYLOR VOLLEYBALL HOSTS NEBRASKA IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE
The Baylor volleyball team returns home for the regular season finale as the Bears play host to fourth-ranked Nebraska on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Ferrell Center. The Bears are coming off a 3-1 loss at Kansas on Wednesday night. The loss snapped Baylor's two-match winning streak. Last week, Baylor earned a pair of come-from-behind five-set victories. Baylor's nine conference wins ties for the second-most league wins in program history. Katie Sanders leads Baylor with 379 kills this season, while five other Bears have topped 100 kills on the season. Taylor Barnes has collected 1,134 assists and a league-high 47 service aces this season. Anna Breyfogle leads the conference with 1.43 blocks per set, but missed six straight matches with a dislocated shoulder. Freshman Allison King has recorded 437 digs this season and has tallied 10 or more digs in 24 of the last 25 matches. Nebraska is coming off a 3-0 sweep of Texas Tech last Saturday. In their previous match, the Huskers dropped a four-set match at Texas. Jordan Larson leads the way for Nebraska with 365 kills and 34 service aces, while Sydney Anderson has tallied 1,104 assists on the season. Kayla Banwarth has tallied 372 digs on the season, while Amanda Gates anchors the net defense with 1.12 blocks per set. The match, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., will feature GameTracker live stats and a live video webcast available on www.BaylorBears.com.

LAST TIME AGAINST NEBRASKA
Jordan Larson recorded 16 kills and Nebraska held Baylor to an .000 hitting percentage as the second-ranked Huskers downed the Bears 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-20) on Wednesday night at the Nebraska Coliseum. Baylor suffers its third-straight loss, falling 3-0 at third-ranked Texas before dropping a 3-1 decision to Iowa State on Saturday. Tara Mueller and Kori Cooper added eight kills apiece for Nebraska who moves to 18-0 on the season. Briana Tolbert and Katie Sanders led the way for Baylor with five kills apiece. Taylor Barnes added 21 set assists. Allison King tallied 12 digs to mark the 13th-straight match that she has reached double-figure digs. Baylor, who entered the match leading the Big 12 Conference with 2.68 blocks per set on the season, failed to record a block through the first two sets before tallying five blocks in the third set. Nebraska recorded 11 blocks on the night, the second-most blocks this season for the Huskers.

LAST TIME OUT
Karina Garlington tallied a match-high 20 kills and Kansas overcame a one-set deficit to defeat Baylor 3-1 (20-25, 25-20, 28-26, 25-18) on Wednesday night at the Horejsi Family Center. The loss snaps Baylor's two-match overall winning streak. The Bears lose to Kansas for the first time since the 2006 season. Katie Sanders led Baylor (18-12, 9-10 Big 12) with 16 kills and added 15 digs for her 14th kill-dig double-double of the season. Allison King tallied 11 kills on a career-best .303 hitting. She also tallied 20 digs on the night to record her second-career kill-dig double-double. Taylor Barnes contributed 46 set assists, while King and Ashlie Christenson added one service ace for the Bears. King and Sanders were joined in double-digit digs by Caitlyn Trice who tallied 15 digs. Anna Breyfogle added eight kills and five total blocks, including a solo. Christenson tallied nine kills and added three total blocks.
