BAYLOR VOLLEYBALL RETURNS HOME TO FACE MISSOURI
The Baylor volleyball team returns home this weekend as the Bears play host to Missouri on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Ferrell Center. The Bears are coming off a 3-2 come-from-behind win on the road at Texas Tech on Wednesday night. On two occasions the Bears trailed by a set before earning their second five-set victory of the season. Baylor has now won three of its last four matches. Katie Sanders leads Baylor with 345 kills this season, while five other Bears have topped 100 kills on the season. Taylor Barnes has collected 1,026 assists and a league-high 45 service aces this season. Anna Breyfogle leads the conference with 1.52 blocks per set, but has missed the last six matches with a dislocated shoulder. Freshman Allison King has recorded 388 digs this season and has tallied 10 or more digs in 22 of the last 23 matches. Missouri enters the match following a five-set loss at home to No. 13 Kansas State on Wednesday. Prior to Wednesday's loss, the Tigers had won three of four matches, with their lone loss coming to then-second-ranked Nebraska in Lincoln. Julianna Klein leads the way for Missouri with 353 kills and 26 service aces, while Lei Wang has tallied 985 assists on the season. Caitlyn Vann has tallied 497 digs on the season, while Amanda Hantouli anchors the net defense with 0.92 blocks per set. Katie Sanders tallied 20 kills and 15 digs as Baylor defeated Missouri 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22) at the Hearnes Center. With the win, Baylor improved to 10-2 overall, 2-0 in Big 12 action, as the Bears moved to 2-0 in the conference for the first time since 1997. Baylor also snapped a six-match losing streak at Missouri. The last time the Bears defeated Missouri at the Hearnes Center came during the 2001 season. Sanders recorded her 20 kills on .269 hitting. She added her 15 digs for her sixth kill-dig double-double of the season. The Bears were 6-0 when Sanders records a double-double this season. She also tallied a service ace and five total blocks including one solo. Anna Breyfogle recorded 15 kills against only two hitting errors for a .371 hitting percentage. She also led the Bears with nine total blocks, including three solos. Taylor Barnes ran the Baylor offense to a .263 hitting percentage as the Bears recorded 64 kills against 19 hitting errors. The junior setter also added eight kills on .538 hitting and served up three service aces. Barnes was second on the team with 16 digs, while adding three total blocks. Brittany Ridenour led the Baylor backrow defense that placed five players in double-figure digs. The freshman setter made her first-career start as the back row player for the right side hitting position. She tallied a team-high 19 digs and added three assists. Allison King and Jordan Rice tallied 14 and 10 digs, respectively. Baylor dominated the net on defense, recording 14 total blocks to just six for Missouri. Breyfogle's nine total blocks marks her season-high, while Sanders set a season-best total with five blocks. Briana Tolbert tallied four blocks, while Barnes added three blocks.

Katie Sanders tallied her 12th kill-dig double-double of the season and Baylor over came a two sets to one deficit to defeat Texas Tech 3-2 (19-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-14, 15-13) on Wednesday night at the United Spirit Arena. The win is the eighth straight for Baylor (17-11, 8-9 Big 12) over Texas Tech, as the Bears have secured season sweeps over the Red Raiders for four-straight seasons. The match is the first in the series to go to five games since the 2006 season when the Bears won its third-straight five-set match over Tech. Baylor moves to 2-2 on the season in five-set matches. The Bears split a pair of five-set matches with Oklahoma and lost at home to 13th-ranked Kansas State by a 3-2 score. The eight conference wins ties for third all-time for conference wins in a season. The Baylor record of 13 conference wins was set in 1999, while the Bears won nine Big 12 matches in 2001. Baylor also won eight conference matches during the 2000 season. The match was the sixth-straight for Baylor without the services of middle blocker and preseason All-Big 12 selection Anna Breyfogle, who has been sidelined with a dislocated shoulder. Ashlie Christenson led the way for Baylor with 13 kills on .375 hitting. Sanders kill-dig double-double came on 12 kills and 10 digs. King recorded the first kill-dig double-double of her career with 11 kills and 12 digs. Briana Tolbert added nine kills on .375 hitting, while Taylor Barnes connected on seven kill on .429 hitting. Barnes led a Baylor offense that hit .331 on the night, the first time Baylor has hit over .300 as a team in a five-set match in over four years. The Bears hit at a .357 clip in a five-set win over Tulsa on Sept. 10, 2004. Barnes collected 44 set assists and added one service ace. Baylor blocked five Texas Tech attacks, led by Tolbert's three block assists. The Bears tallied a 54-47 advantage in digs, led by Jordan Rice with 14 digs in her first match as the starting libero. Sanders and King also reach double-digit digs, while Barnes added eight digs for the Bears.
