BAYLOR VOLLYEBALL PLAYS HOST TO TCU
The Baylor volleyball team returns home for its final non-conference match as the Bears play host to TCU on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Ferrell Center. The Bears are coming off a 3-0 sweep on the road against Colorado on Saturday night. With the three-set sweep, Baylor earned two 3-0 wins over a Big 12 opponent for the first time since the 2001 season. That year, Baylor defeated Oklahoma and Iowa State on two occasions by 3-0 scores. Baylor improved its conference record to 7-8, recording its highest conference win total since the 2001 season when the Bears finished the yeah with a 9-11 Big 12 record. Katie Sanders leads Baylor with 307 kills this season, while five other Bears have topped 100 kills on the season. Taylor Barnes has collected 917 assists and a league-high 40 service aces. Anna Breyfogle leads the conference with 1.52 blocks per set, while freshman Allison King has recorded 357 digs this season and holds a 20-match streak with 10 or more digs. TCU enters the match following its biggest win of the season, a 3-1 win over then-13th-ranked Colorado State on Saturday in Fort Worth. The win is the second of the season for TCU over a ranked opponent. The Horned Frogs swept then-21st-ranked BYU at home during the first week in October. Lauren Otto leads the way for TCU with 267 kills, while Nirelle Hampton has recorded 905 assists. Katelyn Blackwood leads the team with 386 digs, while Kortney Edwards leads the team with a 1.18 blocks per set average. The two teams have played five common opponents this season, Prairie View A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, UNLV and San Diego State. TCU holds a 4-3 record against those teams, while Baylor has a 4-2 record against the same opponents, with a road test against Texas Tech coming up next week. The match, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., will feature GameTracker live stats at and a live audio webcast available on www.BaylorBears.com.
