Two of the largest crowds in Ferrell Center history are expected to be on hand Saturday when the 25th-ranked Baylor men's team hosts Oklahoma at 3 p.m. and the sixth-ranked Lady Bears square off against Nebraska in the 7:30 p.m. nightcap. It will mark the first time the Ferrell Center has hosted a double-header featuring a pair of ranked Baylor basketball programs.
At the close of business Friday, fewer than 1,500 tickets remained for the men's game against the Sooners; while less than 4,000 tickets were left for the women's game against the Huskers.
Student tickets are normally distributed on the day of the game only, however, school officials elected earlier in the week to allow Baylor students to pick-up their tickets Friday and the student body responded by snapping up nearly 2,400 tickets.
Tickets for the Baylor-Oklahoma men's game are priced at $15 for adults and $10 for children, while tickets for the Lady Bear-Husker game cost $10 for adults and $7 for youth.
The Ferrell Center box office will open at 11 a.m. on Saturday and remain open through halftime of the women's game for fans looking to purchase tickets for the Jan. 26 double-header or any future Baylor home games. The arena doors open 90 minutes prior to tip-off.
Prior to the Lady Bears' game, Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey will be honored for becoming the sixth-fastest coach in the women's game to reach the career 200-win plateau, a feat she reached with her team's 72-57 victory at Missouri on Wednesday.
