WACO, Texas - The No. 4 ranked Baylor men's tennis team will host two teams this weekend at the Baylor Tennis Center. The Bears open the weekend against No. 21 Virginia Commonwealth on Friday at 6 p.m. and conclude the weekend against No. 56 TCU on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Bears 9-2 on the season, own a 3-0 series mark against Virginia Commonwealth. The teams have matched up once every year beginning with the 2004 season. The Bears have faced TCU every year since 1970 with TCU leading the series 30-15. The Bears have defeated the Horned Frogs in seven straight matches beginning with the 2002 season.
In individual rankings, Baylor outweighs the competition with four players ranked in the top 100 in singles including No. 25 Michal Kokta, No. 28 Lars Poerschke, No. 91 Dominik Mueller and No. 100 Matija Zgaga. In doubles, Kokta and Mueller rank at the No. 50 spot.
Among the competition, Virginia Commonwealth holds one top 100 ranking with Arnaud Le Cloerec at the No. 54 spot.
After the two weekend matches, the Bears will take a break from competition before hosting Virginia on Saturday, March 17.
