For the next two years, Baylor football, men's basketball and selected other athletic contests will be carried on Sirius satellite radio, according to Shawn Becket, general manager of the Baylor/ISP Sports Network. In 2006-07, Baylor games will be available on FamilyNet, which is Sirius channel 159.

"Satellite radio is becoming common place in college athletics and has been an important missing element for Baylor Athletics," said Becket. "We have put a lot of energy into securing a satellite radio partner and I believe this agreement will be a win-win for Baylor, its fans across America and ISP. We are thrilled to be adding Sirius to our network lineup for the next two years."

The 2006-07 Baylor-ISP Sports Network will again feature Waco's 1660 ESPN Radio as the flagship radio station for Baylor Athletics while maintaining its long-standing relationship with Dallas-Fort Worth's dominant news-talk station, WBAP, and its presence in both the Houston and San Antonio markets.

As in previous years, Waco's 1660 ESPN Radio will continue to originate Baylor football, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball and softball game broadcasts, The Guy Morriss Call-In Show presented by Central National Bank, the all-sports State Farm Baylor Hour from January through May and the daily Baylor State Farm Sportsbeat. The Guy Morriss Call-In Show makes its 2006 debut on Thursday, Aug. 31.

Baylor football in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex will again be carried on 50,000-watt clear-channel WBAP-AM 820 with select games being shifted to KKDL-AM 1160 when conflicts arise. In addition, KKDL will air the Guy Morriss Call-In Show each week, marking the first time the program has been carried in the Metroplex. KKDL will also carry a 30-game package of Baylor men's and women's basketball games. The 2006-07 men's and women's basketball broadcast schedule will be set in the near future.

In Houston, Baylor football will be carried on KKHT-FM 100.7, a 100,000-watt station that covers the entire metro area. The Bears again return to the San Antonio airwaves in 2006 on a 50,000-watt station, KRPT-FM 92.5. Other stations that will broadcast Baylor football during the 2006 season include: KYYW-AM 1470 (Abilene), KIXZ-AM 940 (Amarillo), KBST-AM 1490 (Big Spring), KXAL-FM 100.3 (Tatum), KJAK-FM 92.7 (Lubbock), KYBI-FM 101.9 (Lufkin) and KEBE-AM 1400 (Jacksonville).

"When ISP initiated our partnership with Baylor Athletics we were committed to addressing Baylor's needs in terms of the radio network," said Becket. "We were fortunate last year to be able to strengthen the radio network in Dallas, San Antonio and Houston and clear more games than ever before. This year we are happy to add another station in Dallas, increase the number of games cleared once again and add satellite radio to the mix."

All programming originated by the Baylor-ISP Sports Network will continue to be available free of charge to Baylor fans on the official web site for Baylor Athletics, www.baylorbears.com.

John Morris will return for his 20th year broadcasting Baylor football and men's basketball and will be joined in the football booth for the third straight season by J.J. Joe, a three-time Academic All-America quarterback who played for the Bears from 1990-93 and still ranks as the school's all-time passing leader with 5,995 yards. Ricky Thompson, a two-sport standout for Baylor, is back for his seventh season providing sideline color and analysis, while producer Craig Harper returns to the broadcast team for the 20th year.

Baylor and ISP Sports are in the second year of a seven-year agreement that provides the Winston-Salem, N.C., company, recognized as the national leader in collegiate sports marketing, with exclusive multi-media rights for the school's highly-successful intercollegiate athletics program.
