WACO, Texas - The Baylor Athletic Department and Hillcrest Health System hosted the sixth annual Lil' Wranglers' Round-Up Party Sunday. The event offers children who are afflicted with cancer and their families a chance to spend time with Baylor athletes.
Twenty-one football players participated in the event, which included lunch and a tour of the Mayborn Museum on Baylor's campus.
The Mayborn Museum Complex houses artifacts of natural history and provides many opportunities for hands-on learning in the fields of history, science, and communications.
The children had fun exploring the museum with the football players and getting their autographs and pictures taken with them.
Likewise, the players enjoyed spending time with the kids at the museum.
"It makes me feel like a kid again," remarked Will Blaylock, an offensive lineman for the Bears.
Paul Mosley, running back for the Bears, said, "I'm glad I had the opportunity to put a smile on these kids' faces and help them forget about their troubles for a little while. These are some brave kids and they have been through so much."
The Lil' Wranglers' Round-up Party is an annual event organized by the Baylor Athletic Department, Hillcrest Health System, and various other sponsors to highlight the courage of children battling cancer and help raise funds for cancer research.
