Men's Tennis Remains Top 10

WACO, Texas - Baylor men's tennis team remains in the top 10 in the latest Fila Collegiate Tennis Rankings released today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The Bears came in at No. 9 this week, one spot back from their previous ranking of No. 8.

Stanford made the biggest leap in the men's rankings finding themselves back in the top 10 at No. 7 after spending 9 consecutive ranking periods outside the top 10.

After losing two All-Americans, Benjamin Becker and Benedikt Dorsch, Baylor finds itself in the lowest ranking since April 4, 2002 when they also held the No. 9 spot. The Bear's have started off the spring with a record of 2-2, their losses coming from now- No. 1 Florida and No. 6 Virginia.

Baylor also has two wins against top 50 teams defeating No. 45 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and No. 34 Virginia Commonwealth. The Bears continue to face a tough schedule facing 15 top 50 teams over the next four months.

Baylor will take a week off before traveling to the team National Men's Indoor Championships hosted by the University of Washington in Seattle on Feb. 17-20. Baylor, the defending tournament champions will face off against 15 top programs in the country including seven of the top 10 ranked teams.
