TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Baylor women's cross country team concluded its season as the Bears finished 29th at the NCAA Cross Country Championship at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course on Monday.
Freshman Nichole Jones led the way for the Bears finishing 82nd overall (66th among scored runners) in a time of 21:57.1.
Junior Lyndsy Bedell was the next Baylor runner to cross the finish line as she turned in a time of 22:29.3 to finish 143rd (110th among scored runners).
Senior Monique Ortega finished 164th (130th among scored runners) in a time of 22:36.8 while Junior Lauren Hagans finished 194th (158th among scored runners) in a time of 22:56.0.
Freshman Renae Van Wyhe closed out the scoring for Baylor finishing 203rd (167th among scored runners) with a time of 23:06.0.
Seniors Ruth Waller (207th, 23:18.3) and Brittany McGuire (244nd, 24:08.5) also ran for the Bears, but finished out of the scoring.
For the second consecutive year, Stanford claimed the women's team title with a score of 195 while Texas Tech's sophomore Sally Kipyego captured the women's individual title, finishing the race in a time of 20:11.1.
