Baylor University junior inside receiver Terrance Parks has been suspended indefinitely from the Bears' football program for a violation of team rules, head coach Guy Morriss announced following Thursday's two-hour half-pad practice on the Floyd Casey Stadium turf.
Parks was Baylor's third-leading receiver through six 2006 games with 26 receptions for 217 yards, an average of 8.3 yards per catch. He was one of only three Baylor players to have caught at least one pass in each of the team's first six games and recorded a career-high seven receptions vs. both TCU (for 65 yards) and Kansas State (57). Parks had started three games on the season.
Baylor, 2-0 in the Big 12 Conference for the first time ever and 3-3 overall, plays a nationally televised (TBS) contest against No. 6 Texas (5-1/2-0) on Saturday at 6 p.m. at historic D.K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas.
Practice Note: With an eye toward 2007 and having to replace three of Baylor's top four cornerbacks due to graduation losses, sophomore Queito Teasley has been moved from wide receiver to cornerback, effectively immediately ... Teasley had not registered any offensive statistics in 2006, but he had recorded two tackles on special teams ... Teasley also has averaged 25.8 yards on six kick off returns and 10.4 yards on 11 punt returns in 2006.
