WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's tennis team had a strong showing in the preseason rankings released today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Three Bears earned individual rankings and two doubles teams ranked in the top 50.

Sophomore Lars Poerschke, who finished last season with a 36-13 record, received the highest ranking for the Bears coming in at No. 25. Junior Michal Kokta followed holding down No. 63. Matija Zgaga, a junior, also received a ranking coming in at No. 101.

In doubles, the Bears had two teams post rankings in the top 50. The team of Zgaga and Poerschke came in at No. 18 while teammates Kokta and Vladimir Portnov, a junior, received the No. 48 spot.

Baylor will kick-off fall action hosting the Baylor Intercollegiate September 23-25 at the Baylor Tennis Center.
