After an off day and with Saturday's season-opener at SMU on the horizon, the Baylor football team returned to practice Monday evening with a 90-minute workout under the lights at Floyd Casey Stadium in half pads.
"Practice tonight was excellent," said Baylor coach Guy Morriss. "They were really flying around and the enthusiasm was good. They seemed really rested and mentally fresh. We just have to carry that into the game Saturday (at SMU).
"We need a little more polish, check assignments and clean up the details," he added.
Baylor is slated to practice at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, then will hold a light workout in Waco before bussing to Dallas late Friday. All practices are open to the media and the public.
Kickoff between the Bears and Mustangs in slated for 7 p.m. in Dallas.
