Baylor University offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brent Pease has resigned his position on the Bears' staff to pursue other coaching opportunities, head coach Guy Morriss announced today.
"I appreciate Brent's contributions to our program and wish him well," said Morriss. "Moving forward, I don't believe that our offensive philosphy will change that much, we still want to be a 60-40 (pass to run ratio) team."
Pease also served as Morriss' offensive coordinator at Kentucky (2001-2002) and worked in similar positions at both Northern Arizona (1999-2000) and Montana (1991-1998), two of the nation's most-successful NCAA I-AA programs.
"I have enjoyed my three years at Baylor but feel now is the time to pursue other coaching opportunities," said Pease, a 1990 University of Montana graduate who was a record-setting quarterback for the Grizzlies and enjoyed a successful professional football playing career.
"I believe our offense has improved over the past three years," he added. "I deeply appreciate the effort our players have given on the field."
Baylor, which posted a 44-34 victory over Oklahoma State in its Nov. 19 season-finale, finished the 2005 season with records of 5-6 overall and 2-6 in the Big 12.
