Recap | Final Stats | Notes
BAYLOR HEAD COACH Guy Morriss
On Nebraska's defensive line: "That was the difference in the game. They have a few more horses than we do. That was by far the best defense we've seen all year. We knew they would test us and they got to us." "We knew defensively they were good, but the last couple of weeks their offense was starting to come alive."
"We were trying to throw from the pocket and we were just getting overpowered."
On penalties: "The defensive interference penalties, I can live with that. We need to figure out why the facemask calls keep happening. I don't know how you can prevent that other than just making them aware of it." On the booth review and ruling of simultaneous recovery: "I'm going to call the league office tomorrow and find out what is and isn't reviewable."
On bringing in Terrence Parks: "We thought he was a little bit more mobile, and we wanted to try and just get a look at Terrence; there has never been an ideal time to put him in and we felt like we could here ... He was throwing the ball well and doing what he was supposed to do."
On holding Nebraska to 23 points: "That's a moral victory. We're not interested in that ... They beat us."
BAYLOR WR TENT SHELTON
"We were confident going into the game. We needed to go in and do what we needed to do. They weren't giving Shawn (Bell) enough time to throw. He was running for his life, so we need to do better as a team to help him out."
BAYLOR QB Shawn Bell
"I think they (Nebraska) lead the nation in sacks from what I hear. They were pushing the line back to where it affected my vision and we weren't protecting like we needed to."
On leaving the game: "You always want the ball in your hands, but you have to support the decision that is best for the team."
BAYLOR RB PAUL MOSELY
"Their D-line controlled the line a scrimmage. They put pressure on the ball making it hard to get past the front four and getting our running game established."
BAYLOR FREE SAFETY MAURICE LANCE
"Our offense were connecting, and we were moving the ball. But we are disappointed with the lose. We think we should have had that game."
NEBRASKA HEAD COACH BILL CALLAHAN
"I'm really proud of our guys. It's great that we could get in a situation where we had to overcome adversity. Baylor is a vastly improved football tean and we take our hats off to them."
"We didn't get off to the start that we wanted. It's important to come out and get it done but we just didn't do that and they scored early. When you get behind you've got to put it up."
"You have to be able to be physical. They can put the quarterback in a high pressure situation and we did a great job answering to the challenge. The important thing is to continue to improve and focus. I'm proud of us and this was an excellent test for us."
On Zac Taylor: "He has the ability to avoid rushers in the pocket. He showed that he has escapability and the ability to keep two hands on the ball and keep it moving."
On Todd Peterson: "He's a smart young man who can see up the field. That is a dangerous combination."
NEBRASKA QUARTERBACK ZAC TAYLOR
On Offensive Line: "They were playing incredible. They know how much time I need and they really gave it to me."
On the win on the road: "It's huge, it's tough to play on the road and Baylor was a good crowd, really loud. Any Big 12 road game is tough and a win on the road is great. Things are different, it's not always Lincoln and there are fans there that are going to get to us on the road. We hope to improve."
