Men's Tennis Remains Perfect in Big 12

WACO, Texas - The 2nd-ranked Baylor men's tennis team extended its win streak to 11matches with a 5-2 road win over the No. 25-ranked Texas A&M Aggies at the George P. Mitchell Tennis center on Saturday afternoon.

Baylor extended its season record to 19-2 and is now 4-0 in Big 12 play while the Aggies dropped to 16-7 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

After taking two of three doubles matches, the Bears won four of the six singles matchups to hand the Aggies their first conference loss of the season. The Aggies got their lone doubles win at No. 1 when the nation's top-ranked tandem of Lester Cook and Ante Matijevic posted tiebreaker win over 23rd-ranked Benedikt Dorsch and Matija Zgaga, 9-8 (2). BU's Benjamin Becker and Matias Marin, playing at No. 2, won their eighth straight match and are 13-2 as a team with their 8-4 victory over Brett Joleson and Marvin Rolle. Reiner Neurohr and Ivor Lovrak won their sixth consecutive match with an 8-4 win over the Aggies' Mohamed Dakki and Khaled El Dorry at No. 3.

The Bears took singles wins at courts one, two, three and six. Second-ranked Dorsch posted a decisive two-set victory over 20th-ranked Cook, 6-3, 6-2. Becker, ranked No. 13, upset ninth-ranked Maijevic, also in straight sets (6-3, 6-4). BU's Marin lost the first set to Dakki, 6-4, but rebounded to take the second set 6-3 and won 10-4 in a third set tiebreaker to claim a singles win for Baylor. Baylor's fourth singles win was by Lovrak, at No. 6, when he made quick work of Bryan Wooten, posting a 6-4, 6-3 win.

Baylor faces another tough Big 12 match on Wed., April 7 when it hosts the Texas Longhorns at the Baylor Tennis Center at 6 p.m.
