Waco, Texas - The No. 3 ranked Baylor University men's tennis team defeated No. 7 ranked Stanford University, 5-2, at the Taube Tennis Center, Monday afternoon. With the win, the Bears improve to 14-2 on the year while Stanford falls to 8-3 on the year. The Bears won the doubles point winning two of the three matches. The duo of Benedikt Dorsch and Matija Zgaga defeated KC Corkery and Sam Warburg 8-5 at the No. 1 position while the No. 18 ranked team of Benjamin Becker and Matias Marin defeated James Pade and James Wan 8-1 at the No. 2 position to clinch the doubles point.
In singles competition, the Bears captured four of the six singles matches to seal the win. The Bears won at positions No. 2, 3, 4, and 6 despite No. 1 ranked Benedikt Dorsch falling to No. 28 ranked Sam Warburg 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 at the No. 1 position.
The team will remain in California to take on the University of California at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
