WACO, Texas - The No. 3 Baylor Bears defeated No. 21 Pepperdine today after sweeping the doubles point and winning three of the four singles matches. The matches were moved to the indoor courts in Ennis, Texas because of bad weather. This improves the Bears record to 7-0 and drops Pepperdine to 7-4.

In doubles, Benedikt Dorsch and Reiner Neurohr claimed the first win for the Bears by defeating Pepperdine's Diego Acuna and Calle Hansen, 8-6. The other doubles teams also downed their opponents to help Baylor gain its first point.

Although only four singles matches were played, Baylor claimed three victories. No. 23 Benjamin Becker defeated Pepperdine's No. 81 Acuna at the No. 1 spot, 6-2, 6-4, while No. 23 Zoltan Papp returned to the lineup to roll past Scott Doerner, 6-3, 6-3. After dropping the first set to #103 Hansen, No. 1 Dorsch bounced back to register a 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory at the No. 2 singles and a victory for the team. The only Bear to incur a loss was No. 66 Matias Marin. His 10 match-winning streak came to an end as his opponent, Pedro Rico, won in two sets, 6-1, 6-0.

Baylor continues play this weekend at the ITA Indoor Nationals Tournament being held in Louisville, Kentucky. Matches begin Thursday at 9 a.m.
