WACO, Texas - The Baylor men's tennis team will hit the courts this weekend at the Baylor Tennis Center, looking to extend its five-match winning streak. The Bears will face two opponents, one Sat., Feb. 15, against No. 45 South Alabama at 2 p.m., and Sunday, against No. 21 Pepperdine (6-3) at 2 p.m.

South Alabama (5-0) defeated Florida A&M this past weekend by winning two of three doubles matches and all six singles matches to claim its second straight 7-0 win. Last year when these two teams met, Baylor defeated the Jaguars 6-1. South Alabama has five returning letterman and has added four fresh faces to their roster and are on a five-match winning streak.

Last year, Baylor suffered one of its two losses to then-ranked No. 9 Pepperdine, 5-2. The Baylor men's netters will be looking for a little redemption after last year's loss. No. 21 Pepperdine is coming off of an upset to No. 31 San Diego State, 4-3. The Waves have only two lettermen returning and have added four freshmen to their squad. Junior Diego Acuna is nationally ranked No. 81 and is one of two ranked players for Pepperdine. The other, Calle Hansen is ranked No. 103.

During Sunday's match against Pepperdine there will be promotions and prizes for all the fans. A ski trip for four will be given away at the match and HEB will be there giving away free food to the first 100 fans.
