WACO, Texas - Baylor football head coach Guy Morriss has been selected as head offensive coach for the 65th Blue-Gray All-Star Classic presented by Movie Gallery. The game is held Christmas Day at 2 p.m. CST at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium in Troy, Ala., and will be televised live on ESPN2.

Morriss, who played in the 1972 Blue-Gray All-Star Classic while a senior at TCU, will be joined by Baylor offensive coordinator Brent Pease as an assistant on the Gray staff.

The Blue-Gray All-Star Classic, which debuted Jan. 2, 1939 and is the oldest of the current college all-star games, pits standout collegiate seniors from schools throughout the nation in a traditional "North versus South" format. Squads will consist of 40 players each.

"This is an honor," Morriss said. "Brent and I are excited to be a part of this year's classic. We know the importance of the game. It gives deserving seniors a stage to showcase their talents and an opportunity to better themselves as they prepare for the next level."

Baylor has a rich history with the Blue-Gray All-Star Classic. Since 1942, the Bears have sent 45 players to the game, including Jack Russell (1944 and 1945), Terry Southall (1966), Roger Goree (1972), Bruce Davis (1983) and Nikia Codie (1998). Jon Erickson and Adam Stiles represented the Bears at the 2001 classic, and Baylor legend Grant Teaff served as head coach in 1973 and 1975.
