Men's Tennis Rumbles Through ITA Regional

Waco, Texas - Baylor Men's Tennis players continued its success on Saturday Oct. 25, winning two of three matches and moving into the semifinals in doubles.

Benjamin Becker defeated his only opponent of the day Vuk Rajevac of Rice in two sets 6-2, 6-3 in the round of 32. Becker's next match will be tomorrow at 10:30 Sunday against Jakob Paulson of Texas Tech in the round of 16.

Ivor Lovrak defeated Gonzalo Figueredo of Texas A&M University 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in the round of 32. Lovrak's next match will be at 10:30 Sunday against Fabrizio Sestini of TCU in the round of 16.

Jason Gould was the only Baylor player to lose being defeated by Josey Trinnier of UTA 6-4, 1-6, 10-5 in the consulation round of 64.

Becker and Lovrak, the tournaments No. 5 seed in doubles, won both of their matches against University of Texas doubles teams. Becker and Lovrak began the day defeating Garrett Snyder and Tas Tobias 8-3 in the round of 16. In their next matches, Becker and Lovrak defeated Ryan Haymond and Antonio Ruiz 8-5 in the quarterfinals. Becker and Lovrak will compete against Jimmy Haney and Pete Stroer also of UT, in the semifinal at 8:30 Sunday Oct. 27.
