WACO, Texas - In the Omni Hotel Collegiate Tennis Preseason Singles Rankings, Baylor's sophomore men's tennis standout Benjamin Becker was ranked No. 5.
Jumping 93 spots from last year's preseason rank of 98, Becker finished his 2001-2002 tennis season ranked 11th nationally.
After finishing the season with a 37-9 singles record, Becker earned All-American honors, ITA Region VI Rookie of the Year, Big 12 Freshman of the Year, Big 12 Player of the Week twice and a Big 12 gold medal at the No. 1 spot.
