WACO, Texas - Baylor's women's tennis team moved up to No. 19 in the latest Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings while the men's team maintained their No. 8 ranking for the fourth straight week.
The women, currently 7-2 on the season, moved up two spots from their previous ranking of No. 21. The men, under the direction of Matt Knoll, have an unblemished season record at 9-0.
On the women's side, senior Katja Kovac and junior Vida Mulec both dropped in the rankings. Kovac fell to No. 47 after being ranked No. 35 last time and Mulec dropped from No. 57 to No. 71. Their doubles team, however, moved up five spots in the rankings to No. 24 from No. 29. The doubles team of senior Frida Borjesson and freshman Patricia Graf make their rankings debut at No. 54.
The men have three players ranked nationally. Freshman Benjamin Becker moved down two spots from No. 8 to No. 10. Sophomore Markus Hornung and junior Zoltan Papp sit at No. 42 and No. 46, respectively. Hornung was previously ranked No. 27 and Papp was No. 41. The Bears have only one doubles team ranked. Hornung and Reiner Neurohr check in at No. 17, a drop from their previous ranking of No. 11.
