WACO, Texas - Two Baylor men's netters remain undefeated in tournament play today Nov. 8, 2002. Fellow teammates, sophomore transfer Benedikt Dorsch and freshman Ivor Lovrak both advanced.

Dorsch, the fourth seeded player of the Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, defeated Alejandro Tejerina of Tulsa, 6-1, 7-5 to pit him against North Carolina's Trystan Meniane. Dorsch then swept Meniane in two sets, 6-4, 7-6(3). Dorsch will continue play tomorrow morning in the semifinals when he faces Ohio State's Jeremy Wurtzman.

The remaining Baylor players, Benjamin Becker and Zoltan Papp were eliminated from the tournament today. No. 3 Becker was upset by nationally ranked No. 6 Amer Delic of Illinois, 6-3, 7-5. No. 26 Zoltan Papp began consolation round play today, but failed to advance to the next round. Papp, after winning the first set, fell to Illinois' Brian Wilson 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Heading east to Blacksburg, Virginia for the Burrows/Burleson Virginia Tech Invitational, Lovrak remained undefeated, while Baylor senior Mike Garcia dropped his first match.

Lovrak, the third seeded player of the tournament, made it a clean sweep by overpowering Davidson's Donald Miles, 6-1, 6-1 in the round of 32 and then rolled past Ball State's Chris Varga 6-1, 6-2. Lovrak will compete in the quarterfinals tomorrow against Brown's Jamie Cerretani at 2 p.m.

After losing his first match, to the tournament's fourth seeded Clayton Almeida of Winthrop, 6-4, 6-4, Garcia was bumped down to the consolation bracket. He will face Grant Reynolds of Virginia Tech tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.

The duo of Garcia and Lovrak fell to Winthrop's Almeida and Michal Kwiecien, 8-5 eliminating them from the tournament.
