WACO, Texas - Darren Sproles ran for 124 yards and a touchdown to lead No. 20 Kansas State past Baylor 44-10 Saturday.
Sproles is the first Kansas State running back in 29 years with four straight 100-yard games. The only Kansas State runner with more than four straight 100-yard games is Isaac Jackson, who had six straight in 1973.
Randy Jordan returned a blocked field goal 93 yards for a touchdown, and Sproles ran for a 12-yard score in the second half for Kansas State (6-2, 2-2 Big 12).
Baylor (3-5, 1-3) lost its third straight game but scored for the first time in that stretch. The Bears were outscored 75-0 in their last two games after scoring 11 points in the final two minutes Oct. 5 to beat Kansas 35-32 and end their 29-game Big 12 losing streak.
The Bears had gone almost 139 minutes over nine-plus quarters without scoring until Daniel Andino kicked a 34-yard field goal in the second quarter to tie it at 3.
Kansas State scored 27 straight points after that.
Sproles had a career-high 26 carries and his fifth 100-yard game of the season, and now has 859 yards on the year. The sophomore is averaging 6.3 yards per carry.
Kansas State went ahead to stay when Jesse Tetuan returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown with about four minutes left in the first half to break the tie.
Josh Zachry, starting in place of injured Aaron Karas, was knocked woozy by linebacker Terry Pierce on a keeper in the third quarter and never returned. Two plays later, Greg Cicero was intercepted by Terence Newman.
Zachry completed 17 of 24 passes for 248 yards, and Cicero was 7-of-13 for 90 yards, but the two were sacked six times. The 338 yards passing were offset by Baylor's minus-37 yards rushing.
Reggie Newhouse had nine catches for 173 yards for the Bears.
Newman's interception set up a 37-yard field goal by Joe Rheem that put the Wildcats ahead 30-3.
Kansas State quarterback Ell Roberson ran for 90 yards on 11 carries, but was just 7-of-17 for 54 yards with an interception.
Roberson had three completions for 30 yards to set up Rheem's 26-yard field goal that gave the Wildcats a 13-3 halftime lead.
Ayo Saba and K-State backup quarterback Marc Dunn added TD runs in the fourth quarter.
