WACO, Texas - Men's Tennis Trio at UTA Fall Invitational Garcia and Gould split doubles matches .
WACO, Texas - Three Baylor men's tennis players completed play in the UTA Fall Invitational hosted by the University at Texas at Arlington on Sunday at the UTA Tennis Center.
Teams joining Baylor in the tournament were Texas-Arlington (UTA), Abilene Christian (ACU), Arkansas-Little Rock (UALR), Baylor (BU), Centenary (CC), Lamar (LU), Tyler Junior College (TJC) and Wichita State (WSU).
Baylor players only competed in doubles on Sunday. Mike Garcia and Jason Gould teamed up for the tournament. In their first match of the day, Garcia, a senior from San Antonio, and Gould, a freshman from New Braunfels, defeated Lamar's Juan Pablo Alatorre and John Guerrero 8-5. Later in the day they lost by the same score, 8-5, to Mark Growcott and Jeremy Hubbard of Tyler Junior College. Redshirt freshman Barry McLaren (Edinburgh, Scotland) teamed with assistant coach Sten Van Beurden for two matches. They defeated Lamar's Nebojsa Murisic and Thatcher Cribbs 8-1 before losing to Dash Connell and Jay Mohammadi of Tyler JC 8-4.
