WACO, Texas - Three Baylor men's tennis players are competing in the UTA Fall Invitational hosted by the University at Texas at Arlington and all three won two singles matches in first-day action. Play continues on Saturday and Sunday at the UTA Tennis Center.
Baylor joins seven other teams in competing in the tournament. They are Texas-Arlington (UTA), Abilene Christian (ACU), Arkansas-Little Rock (UALR), Baylor (BU), Centenary (CC), Lamar (LU), Tyler Junior College (TJC) and Wichita State (WSU).
Freshmen Barry McLaren (Edinburgh, Scotland) and Jason Gould (New Braunfels, TX) and senior Mike Garcia (San Antonio, TX) each posted a singles victory over Abilene Christian opponents then followed those wins with victories over Lamar opponents. Gould and Garcia teamed up to notch a doubles victory today also.
