WACO, Texas - For the third week in a row, the Baylor women's tennis team earned the highest ranking in program history as they stepped up one spot to No. 13 in the country, according to the latest team rankings released Wednesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
The Baylor women moved up on the strength of a five-match win streak that includes victories over then-No. 8 UCLA, then-No. 21 Washington, then-No. 50 SMU and Big 12 Conference foes Iowa State and Texas Tech.
The Baylor men's team reversed a recent trend and moved up one spot to No. 20 in the latest listing. The Baylor men have won four straight since opening the season 0-2.
Wednesday's rankings mark the 51st straight week that both the Baylor men's and women's tennis teams have ranked in top 25. The streak dates to March 15, 2000, when the Baylor women moved up to No. 18.
