Box Score

WACO, Texas - Despite dominating control of the ball throughout the game, it took a goal in the 84th minute for Baylor to beat North Texas 1-0 Sunday night in the final game of the Baylor Tournament.

The Bears (2-1-1) easily outplayed North Texas (3-1-0) in every category but one: scoring. Baylor has twice as many shots as UNT, but the Bears could not break through to score until late in the game.

With less than six minutes to go in the game, freshman Cookie Day shot a ball upfield to junior Alyson Miles, who crossed the ball in to senior forward Molly Cameron for the score. The goal was Cameron's fourth in four games, she has scored once in each of Baylor's matches and has accounted for all of Baylor's scoring this season.

This marks the fifth time in Baylor history that a player has scored in at least four straight games. Cameron achieved the feat twice in 1996, scoring in eight of nine games late that season. Courtney Saunders was the first Bear to accomplish the feat, also in 1996. Saunders scored in five straight games in 1999, the Baylor record.

Senior goalkeeper Dawn Greathouse recorded her 26th career shutout and second of the season, totaling eight saves on the night. For the weekend, Greathouse allowed one goal in 210 minutes of play.

Baylor's next action comes Friday when the Bears travel to California to take on 12th-ranked USC. Game time is set for 3 p.m. CT.
