HOUSTON - Repeating their results from the first day at the River Oaks Intercollegiate Clay Court Invitational, both of Baylor's representatives lost their consolation matches on Saturday to end their runs at the tournament.
Senior Mark Williams lost in straight sets to Texas Tech's Royce Ramey, 6-3, 6-4. Williams was ranked No. 68 in the nation in the ITA preseason rankings, but has dropped his first two matches this fall.
Junior Csongor Bibza fought 59th-ranked Cody Hubbell of Texas A&M through three sets before falling, 4-6, 7-6, 6-4. Hubbell was the number four seed in the tournament, but lost his opening match on Friday to fall to the consolation bracket.
The Baylor men travel to South Bend, Ind. for their next action as they participate in the Notre Dame Tournament Friday through Sunday. The women's tennis team begins play this Tuesday, as Vida Mulec, Katka Kovac and Jahnavi Parekh attend the ITA Clay Courts in Baltimore.
