Bears Fall to SMU in Season Opener

DALLAS - The No. 7-ranked Baylor men's tennis team lost their season-opening dual match at No. 12 SMU on Sunday, falling 5-2.
The Bears won two of three doubles matches to take the doubles point. The No. 6-ranked team of David Hodge and Mark Williams beat Toby Hansson and Jon Wallmark, 8-6. Johannes Michalsky and Csongor Bibza also won, beating Gerardo Mulas and Genius Chidzakwe 8-3. No. 27 Pawel Gajdzik and Johann Jooste fell to Dustin Mauck and Vinay Venkataraghavan, 8-5.
The latest addition to the Baylor team, Zoltan Papp, won his first match as a Bear, triumphing over Alexis Rudzinski, 6-3, 6-4, for Baylor's only singles win.
